Yesterday was my baby’s 4th birthday!

I’ve never gone all out for my boys’ birthday parties. Well I did one year for my first one and decided to never do it again. It’s just not my thing and adds too much stress to a day that should be enjoyed and celebrated! Keep it simple, no huge super hero themes here, keep gifts at a minimum and just have fun! So we let the birthday boy pick which restaurant they want to go to; which of course is always McDonald’s! Ha. Then invite a couple friends over for cupcakes in the evening. He picked blue frosting for his cupcakes which complimented my red platter perfectly! Not that he cared but I loved it! The rest of the evening was filled with giggles on the trampoline, wrestling, bubbles, sword fights with bubble wands, and of course fighting over the new toy!

I threw together the bunting and cupcake toppers in about 15 minutes! Seriously, it’s that easy! I found this great pdf online; printed, cut, glued and there was my decorations for the party! It was a gorgeous evening out so I quickly washed down the table and chairs in our screen porch which had accumulated a few inches of dust during the winter and spring. Throw the cupcakes on the table, add a few antique half pint jars of milk, and string up the bunting! Add a very happy 4 yo, his brothers and a few friends and we have a party!!

Happy Birthday to my baby boy!

(All opinions expressed above are simply that; my opinions. If you like throwing big elaborate birthday parties; by all means, do so! And we’ll come and enjoy! hehe.)
