Do I shoot weddings?

This is a question I get asked often. I did shoot a lot of weddings from 2008-2017, then I slowed down drastically for the last couple of years.

As many of you know, my husband Mark got diagnosed with cancer back in May of 2019. He of course had to step back from work and won’t be working through most of 2020; maybe starting in September if health permits. I had already stepped back from taking clients and reconsidering some options. I’ve had a chance to do lots of thinking and evaluating and realize that financially I need to pick up my camera again and start booking sessions.

We also have big travel plans for this summer and will need some funds to make those dreams come true! I’ve come to the conclusion that since my husband can’t work and is home full time, it’s my turn to go back to work. As lovely as it is to have zero deadlines and relax with him at home, I’m more than capable to get out there with my camera and start shooting again. So I guess it’s back to reality for me!

All that being said, I know I’m late to the wedding game but if you are looking to hire a photographer and have a wedding between now and July 2020, feel free to send me an email and we’ll talk!

(ps. I really really want to go to Europe with my fam haha. So yea, hire me!)

If you need more convincing, here are a few images from Roy & Janelle’s (my bffs *wink) wedding back in July!

This was definitely a family wedding with stunning florals by my sister Irma at Prairie Blossom Flowers, makeup & hair by my niece Celina, and the dress was sewn by another niece, Rachelle!

All images shot on my film Contax 645 and processed by Canadian Film Lab.

Then there was my lovely niece Sharilyn on her wedding day with the dreamiest flowers! Also by my sister Irma.

Lars & Jessica; (I have a deep love for this couple and their family hehe) were my first wedding for 2019!

They got married on a beautiful June day when all the spring blossoms were still in bloom.

Jessica’s beautiful bouquet was by Academy Florist

Hair by Somboun June from Grace Hill Salon

Makeup by Ashley from Tiopo & Co

And here is the last wedding I shot this year; Josh & Ashley! They got married in Clear Lake with a reception at Dance Land!

Ashley’s flowers were designed by Lauren at Stone House Creative!

I hope you enjoyed this little peek at some of my wedding work that I’ve never shared before!

Please email me if you have any questions or would like to talk. I’ll continue this conversation with family sessions tomorrow!
