Welcome to my first photo session of 2010!! I am very excited to post this session! Mark & I met up with Rans and his fiance Felicity during our vacation in Seattle. Rans’ family have been very close friends with my family since like the late 80’s ;). So I’ve known Rans since he was 5ish?! Correct me if I’m wrong. While I was in highschool, their family moved away from Winnipeg and settled in Toronto. We have always kept in touch over the years. Rans pursued his passion of playing basketball which landed him a scholarship at Western Carolina University! This is where he met Felicity, who was/is a fellow Canadian playing volleyball for the same college! I believe this is when they started dating. Rans went on to play pro basketball in Europe! I kept up to date with him through facebook and read about him getting down on bended knee in Rome last December :). Anyway, to make a long story short, I was beyond thrilled when Rans sent me an email asking if I’d photograph their wedding in Vancouver this coming July! Luck would have it, he was visiting Felicity in Vancouver the same time we were on vacation in Seattle so we decided to meet up, have coffee, catch up on the latest news
and do a quick engagement session! Of course, it was a torrential downpour the day we met up. Really dark and miserable. Totally different environment for me to shoot in coming from sunny, bright Manitoba! But challenges are good.. and here is the result! It was so awesome to meet you Felicity and to catch up with you again Rans! We are really excited about your coming wedding day!

Ok, here is the 2nd part of our session. We found a parking spot close to the Pike Place Market downtown and started trudging up the stairs, only to find it was closed! New Year’s Day :). Oops, so we walked in the rain and found a few sort of covered alley ways. By this point we were all cold and wet so we got a few more shots then ducked into a furniture store and pretend shopped while Mark was a sweetheart and got the van :). But I must say I almost shrieked when Rans showed me his classic Winnipeg Jets sweater jersey! Go Jets Go! Yes, I know they have not existed for a long time but he still lived in Winnipeg during the Teemu Selanne glory years. (NHL hockey team; for those of you who don’t know). So of course I was all giddy and had to do some pictures with them sporting their Winnipeg Jets and Vancouver Canucks jerseys!

We were losing light fast but here is one from the bubblegum wall!

Mark & I are super excited about your wedding in July!!
And just for fun, a picture Mark took of me in action
