Way back at the beginning of September my sisters and I decided to “freshen” ourselves up during a family camp and head up into the fields on an amazingly gorgeous late summer evening!! Actually it had been sweltering hot throughout the weekend so it was a bit challenging to make ourselves presentable to the camera, esp. camping in the wilderness without running water or electricity! We dipped our heads into bowls of water for a quick “wash” and crowded into my brother’s steaming hot camping trailer after begging him to turn on the generator so we could dry, curl and straighten.. hehe! Thank you to a few of my nieces for helping with hair & makeup! It really was so much fun and we couldn’t stop laughing! My husband did a fabulous job with the pictures!!
My sisters truly have always been some of my closest friends growing up! I cannot imagine life without them. Early childhood memories in the tropics of Costa Rica where our toys consisted of 1 doll and purse for each of us and card board boxes converted into the best little play houses set up under the trees in our orchard. Spending lazy afternoons in the creek down the hill; chasing tad poles and splashing in the cool, crystal clear water. Four of us snuggling in 1 big bed horizontally, giggling till we fell asleep! Those are the earliest memories of my sisters. Later on after the big move to Canada and baby Janie came along, we spent hours playing paper dolls, the whole basement floor covered with paper homes cut out from piles of Sears catalogues my sis-in-law so graciously donated to us :). Spending summer days out on the farm, dressing our kittens in doll clothes till we’d be rolling around on the floor laughing! I could go on and on. I really have only wonderful memories of us. Of course you have those occasional sisterly fights that would consist of stomping, kicking, scratching, spraying hairspray at each other, throwing chairs.. lol ;)… but they’d always end up in hysterical laughter.
Now we have something in common, we are all mommies! I LOVE nothing more then days spent surrounded by all my 5 sisters, our combined total of 24 children and my wonderful mother!! Ok, I am stopping now… promise
Here are the pictures!
